Scholarship FAQs

We are currently fundraising for the ISR Academic Scholarship Programme. Students can apply for the programme from February 1, each school year. Successful applicants will join Grade 10 in August. Applications are accepted until May 1 for entry in the next school year. Please find more information about the scholarship programme in the tabs below. You might also want to learn more about the IB Middle Years Programme (Grades 6-10) and the IB Diploma Programme (Grades 11 and 12).

ISR is looking to fund up to two students per school year. 

Students who apply for the ISR Academic Scholarship Programme must fulfil the following requirements:

  • Are legal residents and tax domiciled in the region from which applying (Austria, Liechtenstein or Switzerland) and
  • Live within a 60-minute commute of ISR
  • They are in Grade 9 at the time of application for entry into Grade 10 the next school year (starting in August)
  • We accept applications from February 1 - May 1 each year
  • They have a Cambridge English language level of B2, or above
  • Students whose financial situation is defined as below are eligible to apply:

1) 1-Parent-Family refers to Single parent families: Single parent families are comprised of a parent/caregiver and one or more dependent children without the presence and support of a spouse or adult partner who is sharing the responsibility of parenting (source: 13/12/2023: Springer)

Students need to have a Cambridge English language level of B2, or above.  As part of the selection process, students will be assessed in English by our English Additional Language (EAL) specialist. 

The scholarship is for students joining in Grade 10. These students will then continue through the IB Diploma Programme in Grades 11 and 12.

 

Applications are now open. Please complete the ISR Academic Scholarship application form to apply for a scholarship and follow the steps as described above. 

The application process has 3 phases and is aimed at students to joining Grade 10 and continuing through Grades 11 and 12.

  1. Applications will open on February 1: Fill in the ISR Scholarship Application Form - which will be linked below and submit it to [email protected] for Grade 10 entry. The application window closes on May 1.
  2. Assessment - Students who meet the criteria will be invited to ISR for a one-hour English and one-hour mathematics assessment. This will all be done with our friendly and supportive staff.
  3. Review and notification - A selection committee will review all applicants and will then select candidates for the scholarship, who will then be interviewed at ISR. We will then notify the successful student and their families of the outcome of their application within 15 working days. Students who are awarded a full or partial scholarship will be required to confirm the family's financial status. 

The selection committee comprises representatives of the ISR community, including:

  • ISR CEO and Director
  • ISR Chair of the Board
  • ISR Head of Secondary School
  • ISR Student Representative
  • ISR Parent Representative
  • Hilti Family Foundation Liechtenstein Representative
  • Partner Donor Organisation Representative

 

You must live within commuting distance of the school (maximum of one hour). You are responsible for getting to and from school. We do have a bus from and to St Gallen main station to ISR every school day. If there is space available, you are welcome to book a place on the bus, free of charge. 

ISR is a day school. We do not provide accommodation. You must live within a one-hour commute of ISR.
