International School Rheintal celebrates its graduates of 2021

On June 7, 2021, the largest graduate class of the International School Rheintal celebrated its graduation in the large hall (SAL) in Liechtenstein. 13 graduates in their blue graduation gowns were presented with their high school diploma last Monday.

“This graduation class can be particularly proud of itself,” says Heiner Graf, Chair of the Board of ISR. “They worked hard and managed to keep a fixed eye on their goals in these unprecedented times.” Graf also reflects on the recruitment of the new director Liz Free a year ago: “We are happy; Liz is the right leader for ISR and the right person for the ISR community.”

Congratulations from around the world

In addition to the 100 guests present, classmates, relatives and friends from over twelve countries around the world were able to attend via live stream. Even greetings from Japan from a former classmate reached the audibly surprised and happy graduates in Schaan and

Anna Rauter, who graduated from ISR in 2011 and is now working on her PhD with a focus on climate change at the University of St. Andrews in Scotland, also spoke to the graduates from Greece via video message:

“It’s your generation and it’s my generation that can shape the future of tomorrow. So, let’s do it. Let’s do something meaningful and let’s do it together.”

And there was something else to celebrate: this year, ISR said goodbye to two graduates who attended ISR kindergarten and have now graduated after 15 years in the ISR community.

Internationally recognised diploma

With the completion of the IB diploma, the graduates hold an internationally recognised IB diploma, which opens the door to universities all over the world. If you ask the graduates, who themselves hold passports from nine different countries, many of them are planning for a university career in Switzerland, Austria and further afield in Europe and Canada.

ISR has a bold future

ISR is an IB English-medium World School for students aged 3-18. It is currently recognised as being one of the top ten IB schools in Switzerland and is moving to a new purpose-built ecological campus in the heart of Buchs in 2023.
